I found these mushrooms in my son's yard located in SE Boise off of Law Street. I don't think I have these identified correctly, but I think I am in the ballpark. Can some one help? I would appreciate any and all assistance. I have not eaten them. haha Click on the picture to see an enlargement to better identify the mushroom and to read the text. Thanks.

Hello Bill,
ReplyDeleteI am no help on the top two. On the Agaricus I have been seeing a lot of what we think are Agaricus cupreobrunneus. These are the Brown Meadow Mushroom. I haven't been seeing the stark white ones, campestris. There are tons of the Yellow staining Agaricus out at the moment also(Poison). I will post some picture of the cupreobrunneus, or least what I think is them on my site soon. I find mine in an old cow lot. Only the buttons are really pink. They start to fade to a muddy pink pretty quick. Bob C seems to think I was collecting either the cupreobrunneus or the campestris. Either one is good to eat if they are fresh. I really worry about these common looking mushrooms. I prefer the exceptions and it is harder to go wrong. I guess we are even on copying each others idea. Good job.
